Coach: Dean Lowrie
The head coach of the Western Mustangs women's volleyball program for 15 years (started 1996), Lowrie has amassed three provincial titles and an overall record of 282-80, including 164 wins and 25 losses in the regular season (highest OUA win % during his tenure), 20-9 in OUA playoffs and 4-5 in CIS nationals play.
A former assistant coach with Team Canada, Lowrie has also had the honour of coaching the World University Games team (2003, 1996-97) and is a former youth and junior national team coach. He was also an assistant coach with the CIAU national champion Alberta Pandas squad in 1995-96 and the CIAU national champion Winnipeg Lady Wesmen squad in 1992-93.
The native of Winnipeg is married to his wife Deborah of 20 years and has two Daughters (Devon 13, Dara 10).
Outside of the coaching world, Lowrie has also contributed to the sport behind the scenes. From 1994-1996, Lowrie served as the Technical Director for the Alberta Volleyball Association and as the Executive Director of Volleyball Yukon. Lowrie is also a Level 4 NCCP candidate in volleyball and holds his technical, practical and theory at the Level 3 level. He conducts coaching clinics throughout the country.
Currently employed as a Faculty member in the Faculty of Health Sciences at The University of Western Ontario. Coach Lowrie also owns and operates his own coaching business at Advantage Volleyball.
