Coach's Comments:
The girls officially ended their season at the U14 Girls Provincial Championship in Waterloo with another stellar performance. This incredibly, talented group of U13 girls proved that they can play with the best in the U14 division. The team earned their way into the top tier of the tournament by playing consistent and disciplined volleyball on Friday and Saturday during the pool plays. Sunday morning, the girls were matched up against a strong, #3 seed team from Durham Region for the quarter finals. The girls not wanting to go home early, played a nearly flawless game to win 2 straight and move on to the semi-finals. In an exciting 'David vs Goliath' semi-final match, which was occurred 6 hours after the morning game, the girls went 3 sets to almost beat the #1 seed Durham Attack team, who went on to become the Ontario champions. Despite losing that match, the girls rebounded to win 2 straight sets against another strong team from Georgetown to win the Bronze medal. What an accomplishment for a group of grade 7 (and one in grade 6) girls! A special congratulations to Rachel Petcoff on winning the OVA award. The coaches would like to thank all the girls for their incredible enthusiasm and hard work throughout the year. Once again, congratulations on an amazing season girls. Coach Peter

Coach's Comments:
The girls cappped off their U13 season with a display of volleyball skills second to none. The team powered their way to the finals, winning most sets with a large margin, to win the gold medal and the title of "Ontario Champions". This special group of girls consisting of Shalena Horst,Jamie Leidl, Rachel Petcoff, Elena Simpson, Amy Gauld, Michaela Vansevenant, Sabrina Fitzgerald, Maddy DeDecker and Hannah Wiechers did not lose any matches all year (U13 division) to accomplish something rarely achieved. A "Perfect" season. Congratulations girls on an incredible feat. The coaches would like to thank the parents for their outstanding support throughout the year. A special thank you to Sarah DeDecker for helping the girls "relax" before the finals. (nice green boots!) The girls are preparing for one final tournament, the U14 Provincials, where we look forward to surprising a few teams with our ability to play volleyball.

Coach's Comments:
The girls far exceeded our goals and expectations for this U14 Tier 2 tournament. Being the smallest team in size and number of players, this special group of girls continue to demonstrate an exceptional ability to play as a team. Every member of the team contributed to keeping the ball in play whether we were on offense or defense (just look at some of the evidence in the pictures section). The gold medal match was certainly the toughest team we have played this year. This big and stong offensive team from Ottawa tested our defensive skills as well as our mental toughness. Only losing in the third set by a score of 13-15, the girls should be very proud of their accomplishments. The coaches certainly are. Congratulations girls on a fantastic day and I look forward to preparing for Provincials.

Coach's Comments:

Once again this phenomenal group of young girls continue to enjoy the rewards of their hard work by earning a gold medal at the Tier 1 Bugarski Cup. With each tournament, the members of this team demonstrate an increased understanding of the game and therefore elevate their game to a new level. The girls demonstrated their mental toughness to regain their confidence after losing the first set, to win the next two sets and match in the finals. This is an incredible feat for such a young team.

Congratulations girls on a superb effort and I look forward to the Tier 2 U14 tournament on March 1

Coach Gauld

Coach's Comments:
What a season this team is having this year. The girls participated in the U13 Tier 1 Challenge Cup to test their skills against the best, in their age group. Other than one set, the girls went undefeated in matches and proved they were the best team by winning the gold medal. Each member of the team continues to make great gains in all aspects of their game however, more importantly, the girls are playing as a cohesive unit. It is remarkable how far this group of young girls have come together as a team in such a short span of time. The coaches look forward to each practice and game as these girls are dedicated to working hard every time they step on the court. The girls are preparing for their next tournament at the U14 Tier 2 level in Cambridge. Once again, congratulations to the girls for an outstanding accomplishment on the weekend. Coach Peter

Each time this group of girls take to the court, they elevate their game to another level. The girls went undefeated to win the gold medal at the U14 girls tournament in Waterloo. They are quickly establishing themselves as a team that serves tough and will keep the ball in play. Finishing first will put the girls into Tier 2 for the next U14 tournament on Feb 2. The coaches are very impressed with the level of play of this group of girls and know with their dedication and hard work in practices, they have a promising future. Once again girls congratulations on earning your second gold medal. The coaches want to thank all the parents for their continuous support and wish all the families a Merry Christmas and a safe and happy New Year. Coach Peter

A big congratulations to the girls for their outstanding performance in Amherstberg on the weekend. The girls placed first in their pool then went on to win all their playoff games to remain undefeated for the day winning the gold medal. Since the first tournament, the girls have improved many areas of their game. The most notable improvements are attacking, blocking at the net and consistent serving. With continuous hard work and dedication at practice, the girls are going to be medal contenders in Tier 1. The girls are preparing for their first U14 tournament this weekend and the coaches know the girls will do well. Once again the coaches congratulate the girls on their success so far and know they will have a rewarding season. Coach Peter and Allison

Coach's Comments:
Congratulations to the U13 Green team for a tremendous effort in their first tournament. A solid team effort was put forth as the girls went undefeated to finish first in their pool. The girls then played the top two teams in Pool B and remained undefeated for the day. This team is looking forward to their next two tournaments on December 8th (U13 Girls) and December 15th (U14 Girls). Once again, congrats to the girls for an excellent start to their season.
