Dear Athlete,

Welcome to the Forest City Volleyball Club tryouts. Your attendance is a testimony to your desire to play elite volleyball. The Forest City Volleyball Club is a perfect avenue for you to develop as both a player and person. Our goal as a club is to develop elite volleyball players who are prepared to make the next step to college and university programs.

The demands required of an athlete in the Forest City program are intense. Our coaches are among the best in the province and provide an excellent experience. As a player you need to be prepared to make a full time commitment. This consists of 2 to 3 practices a week and a minimum of 1 tournament a month. It is the expectation of all the coaches and club executive that you, as a potential player, are prepared to make the necessary sacrifices and be accountable for personal and competitive team goals.

The financial investment required to cover uniforms, practice facilities and registration fees is $625.00. In addition to this fee, all athletes must purchase 30 raffle tickets ($5 each) toward the first annual FCVC Fundraising Draw. This new fundraising initiative will replace lost bingo revenue and it is hoped that families will recoup the cost by selling the tickets in the community.

If there are any issues regarding your commitment to this program please feel free to approach any of the coaches before selections are made. A coach does not want to be put into an awkward position of reminding you of the commitment you made to the team and club. Please take advantage of the tryout experience and be responsible for pushing yourself beyond your comfort zone as often as possible.

Final team rosters for each age division will be posted on the FCVC website under Tryout Results by 8 p.m. the day after the last tryout date for each division.

Registration information and forms are available on the website under Registration Information. Please read all posted materials. Successful athletes must complete and print these forms and bring them to their team registration night on October 11 or October 24.

Our club has partnered with Source for Sports London to offer shoes, kneepads, ankle braces and a full selection of volleyball equipment and accessories. The FCVC Superstore will also be open to offer you a line of Adidas clothing and representatives from Positive Identity will be on hand to offer optional FC clothing. The list of clothing from Positive Identity will be posted on our web site. Orders can be placed until December 1, 2007.
