Welcome to the Forest City Volleyball Club E-School Tournament..
In 1998 FCVC started with an 8 team tournament for girls and the same for boys. Since then we have grown to where we hosted 32 and 24 boy's teams in 2006. This will be our 10th annual competition and FCVC plans to honour a select few elementary school coaches who have competed in most of these tournaments.
In 2007 we plan to have spots for 30 teams of girls and 30 teams of boys at the home-base for volleyball in London, Fanshawe College.
The day has been planned, and the rules designed, to give all athletes maximum playing time and the coaches a chance to work on building their school teams. The play-offs are set up to insure that every team has a chance to finish the day playing against teams of equal caliber.
FCVC uses this tournament as a springboard for athletes who would like to compete at an elite level against others from across the province. This is also an opportunity for coaches, who would like to become more involved in our sport, to work with local youth.
In 2005 our club fielded five U14 and U12 teams with 60 athletes from over 15 elementary schools from the London area. Much of this growth comes from the large number of elementary school coaches who promote our sport and do a great job in teaching the fundamentals of the game.
Once again, we are offering clinics to elementary school teams. An FCVC coach and athletes will be available to spend a two hour practice with you. They will build a practice session to meet your needs. Speak to our convenor for details.
If you have any questions please call our friendly tournament convenor, Bob Mann at 519 472-3271.
